Payments
Storeforge never touches your money. Card payments run through your own Yoco,
PayGate or PayPal account and settle straight into your own bank account; we
charge you a flat monthly fee for the software, nothing per sale.
Yoco
Add your Yoco secret key under Payments. The moment you save a key, Storeforge
registers its own webhook with Yoco for your shop specifically, so payment
confirmations come straight back to your store. Until that webhook is
armed (registered and confirmed), your shop can't take real live card
payments, only test ones, so a half-finished setup can never charge a real
customer without paying out.
PayGate
An alternative to Yoco if that's who you bank with. Same idea: your own
merchant details, card payments only for now. Test mode always uses PayGate's
own public test account, even if you've saved real credentials, so testing
never risks a real card.
PayPal
You can offer PayPal alongside card as an extra choice. Because PayPal doesn't
settle in rand, you set a conversion rate and the converted amount is fixed the
moment a customer starts paying.
Selling on account (EFT, invoice, pay on delivery)
If your customers are on credit terms, turn on "selling on account" under
Settings. These orders go through with no payment step; you mark them paid by
hand once the money is in.
Pay-by-link
Any order that isn't paid yet, whether it's on-account or a manual order, gets
a link you can copy or WhatsApp to the customer so they can pay by card without
placing a fresh order.
Test mode vs live
Every shop starts in test mode, where the built-in simulator stands in for a
real card so you can try the whole flow safely. Switching to live mode needs a
confirmed email and (for card payments) an armed webhook.
